Overview
This page provides a comprehensive reference for locating all components within your HiveRadar EDC. Use this guide during setup, maintenance, or when looking for specific items.

Front Panel Components
When front lid is removed, you'll see:

Compute Drawer
Location: Center, backlit drawer with server nodes
📦 NUC Edition:
- 3× Intel NUC Pro nodes (side by side)
- Labeled 1, 2, 3
- Individual bays with rubber dampening
- Access via pull handle
🔶 HR01-2 Edition:
- 2× HR-01 Edge Server nodes
- Labeled 1, 2
- Full-depth server chassis
- Access via pull handle
🔷 HR01-4 Edition:
- 4× HR-01 Edge Server nodes
- Labeled 1, 2, 3, 4
- High-density configuration
Accessing drawers: All drawers (compute and storage) use twist-lock mechanisms on left and right sides. Twist upward ~90° to unlock. For complete drawer operation instructions, see Storage Drawers.

Switch Compartment
Location: Below compute drawer
All Editions:
- EnGenius ECS2510FP switch (8-port 2.5G) or ECS5512FP (upgraded)
- Front-facing RJ45 ports (Ports 1-8)
- Status LEDs visible
- Management button accessible

Front Storage Drawer
Location: Top drawer, full-depth
📦 NUC Edition:

Control Panel
Location: Lower front panel (below drawers)

Rear Panel Components
When rear lid is removed, you'll see:

Power Distribution Unit (PDU)
Location: Top center of rear panel
All Editions:
- EnGenius ECP106 (North America) or ECP106-INT (International)
- 6× power outlets
- LCD display showing power consumption
- Network port for monitoring
- Physical power switches per outlet

Rear Storage Drawer
Location: Below PDU, short-depth drawer
📦 NUC Edition:
- Starlink Mini storage space (compatible)
- Power cables and adapters
- Spare hardware and mounting screws

🔶 HR01-2 Edition:
- Too short for Starlink Mini
- Power cables and adapters

Network Connections
Location: Rear panel, switch access
All Editions:
- SFP+ ports (Ports 9-10) with copper transceivers

Internal Shelves (2 Levels)
The EDC interior contains two storage shelves above the main components.
Access: Remove front lid to view shelves

Top Storage Shelf
Location: Highest internal shelf
All Editions:
- T-bar bracket (for gateway mounting)
- HiveRadar Beacon (if equipped)
- Cable ties and management accessories
- Spare antennas (if applicable)

Middle Storage Shelf
Location: Second internal shelf (below top shelf)

Lid Storage
Both front and rear lids contain storage for support legs and accessories.

Front Lid (Lid 1) - EDC Deployment Legs
Purpose: Stores legs for elevating EDC off ground
Contents:
- 4× Support legs (angled feet)
- Marked "EDC" or "Lid 1" inside
- These legs deploy the EDC in operational mode
- Legs have angled feet for stability
Identification:
- Text inside lid: "EDC LEGS"
- Text inside leg anchor points: "EDC"
- Leg shape: Angled feet at ends

Rear Lid (Lid 2) - Bench Deployment Legs
Purpose: Stores legs for converting lid to bench seat
Contents:
- 4× Bench legs (straight profile)
- Marked "BENCH" or "Lid 2" inside
- These legs deploy a lid as bench/work surface
- Legs have straight design
Optional Contents:
- Carbon fiber extension pole (if equipped)
- Additional cable lengths
- Field accessories
Identification:

Storage Best Practices
After deployment:
- Store lids safely - place removed lids flat in secure location
- Keep small items organized - use drawers and shelves as designed
- Cable management - coil cables neatly in storage areas
- Heavy items low - keep heavier items in drawers (not shelves)
- Secure during transport - ensure all items secured before moving
Before transport:
- Retract all deployed components (gateway, legs, etc.)
- Return items to designated storage
- Close and latch all lids securely
- Verify nothing loose inside
