Note: All SFP+ ports come with copper transceivers (SFP+ to RJ45) that auto-negotiate up to 10GbE.

For Most Users: Verify and Go

The switch comes pre-configured and ready to use. For basic deployments, no configuration is needed.

Quick Status Check (2 minutes):

  1. Power on the EDC (if not already powered on)

  2. Look at the switch LED indicators:

    • Power LED: Solid green = switch is powered on
    • Port LEDs: Green/amber lights = devices connected and active
    • Cloud LED: May be off (cloud management is optional)
  3. Verify your connections work:

    • Connect a laptop to any port (1-8)
    • Verify you can reach the network/internet

Everything working? You're done!

👉 Continue to Connecting Devices

Option A: Cloud Management

Option A: Configure with EnGenius Cloud

Step1: Register Device

You can register the device on the EnGenius Cloud platform.

EnGenius Cloud Platform

  1. Login into the EnGenius Cloud Platform: https://cloud.engenius.ai/
  2. Go to the home > Inventory page and click "Register Device".
  3. Enter the Serial Number of the device(s) for device registration. Please refer to "User Manual-Registering Devices to Organization".

4. Select the registered device and click "Assign to Network" to add the device to your personalized Network.

Step 2: Connect to EnGenius Cloud

Connect an Ethernet cable from your DHCP-enabled network to any port of EnGenius Cloud Switch.

EnGenius Cloud Connected

Once the device is powered on and ready to connect to the Internet, It will automatically download the default configuration settings from EnGenius Cloud for automated provisioning.

When the Switch is connected to the EnGenius Cloud Platform for the first time, it will automatically check the latest available firmware. If the firmware upgrade is required, it might take 8~10 minutes to complete the process.

Step 3: Manage with the EnGenius Cloud

Log in to the EnGenius Cloud Platform to configure detailed settings. For more information, please refer to User Manual.

Troubleshooting

If your Switch cannot be managed by the EnGenius Cloud Platform, there might be a problem with connecting to EnGenius Cloud.

To troubleshoot the connection issue, you may log in to the Switch Local Web page:

  1. Make sure that your computer is on the same subnet with the switch (192.168.0.0/24) and directly connect to it with an RJ-45 cable.
  2. Under your web browser, enter the URL: http://192.168.0.239 to access the Switch's local web interface.
  3. You can review the device status after logging into the Switch with the default admin account/password (admin/password).
  4. Check the information on the Dashboard and take action if necessary.

*The display model number may be varied according to different models.

By default, the EnGenius Cloud Switch (ECS series) is assigned an IP address dynamically by the DHCP server. If you encounter issues with IP address assignment, please double-check the IP setting, including IP address, subnet mask, gateway, DNS, and management VLAN. If the issue still exists, you may change your IP assignment from "DHCP " to "Static" via the following procedure.

  1. Go to the Configure> System Settings> IP Address Settings section.
  2. Change Configuration setting to "Static".
  3. Configure the IP address, gateway, subnet mask, and DNS settings.
  4. Reconnect this Switch to the LAN network and try again

Option B: Standalone Configuration

Option B: Standalone Configuration

Step 1: Access to Local Web

  1. Connect your computer to the switch and ensure its IP address is in the same subnet.

2. Launch your web browser and enter the URL: http://192.168.0.239 to access the switch's local web GUI.

3. Use the default login credential (ID/PWD: admin/password) to log in to the switch's local web page.

*The display model number may be varied according to different models.

Step 2: Configure and Manage the Device

After logging in to the device's local web page, navigate to the left-side menu to configure and manage the switch accordingly.

*The display model number may be varied according to different models.

For information on configuring the switch and using the Standalone Configuration, refer to the user guide: https://docs.engenius.ai/ecs-user-manual

How to Change Management Mode?

EnGenius Cloud devices support versatile network management methods, but the device can only be managed under one management mode, either Cloud To-Go app or Standalone. Therefore, you need to reset the device before changing to a different management mode, followed by QSG instructions for onboarding the device.
